The Last Dragon
(A spin-off novel to The Witching Pen Novellas)

Picture

Genre: Urban Fantasy
Length: Novel
Release Date: 4th October, 2013
Author's Note: While The Witching Pen trilogy was paranormal romance, this spin-off novel (containing the same characters) is an (adult) urban fantasy. It is highly recommended that you read The Witching Pen Novellas, before reading this book.
"You're offering me clarity, so I can choose the best future for my child? Freely?" she asked, the palm of her hand stroking the swell of her belly, her heart already feeling lighter with the promise of hope. Anything but this migraine-inducing confusion she'd been living with.

"Yes."

"But you're asking me to consider turning away from your offer?"

"Yes."

"Why? Why would any mother walk away from that?"

He strode towards her, tossing the apple up and down with a careless ease. His eyes glinted in the shadows that gave depth to the night. "Because free will is unruly. Because free will's a bitch to conquer." Lucifer stopped an inch in front of her, then lowered his head, whispering directly in her ear, "Because one man's free will, is another man's prison."

The earth is in a state of shock after the apocalypse. The veil between dimensions is no more. Demons and fallen angels walk among humans, and everyone is trying to find their place in the new world - Morgan le Fey's world.

But the fairy queen finds herself cemented within humanity and struggling with human emotions, and her right-hand-man, Lucifer, has secrets which are causing fissions among every race.

Meanwhile, Karl and Elena struggle with newly discovered powers; Katarra is hell-bent on freeing her tribe from Lokoli's curse, and two men will stop at nothing to protect their unborn child - the Messiah of the New Age - and the woman they love.

Far to the East, the fallen Archangel Michael is fighting for the one he holds above all others.

The Last Dragon is about to rise and seal everyone's future, which depends solely on its survival ... or its extinction.

Official Book Trailer

Contains visual spoilers for The Witching Pen trilogy.

Question: Will The Last Dragon throw up even more questions?

Answer: No. The Last Dragon will be the LAST book with these characters in. At a minimum of 100,000 words, it'll wrap everything up and answer all outstanding questions. It's a "spin-off" because it will not be categorised as a romance.

Fun Facts

1. The Last Dragon was thought up over a year ago, before I even started to write The Witching Pen, and was going to be called The Last Angel. I had the character of Mary firmly in my head, only back then, this story had a different plot and was going to be a series of urban fantasy novellas (at around 20,000 words each). Mary would also have been ever so slightly different, not in personality, but in "what" she is. There's still a chance that I'll create these shorter stories with a brand new character as the lead, but there are no plans for that yet. I still have the original plot firmly under my belt and it may well develop into a whole new book or concept at some point :)

2. In the original idea, this book was going to be set in Yorkshire. This will no longer be the case. We'll remain in London.

3. This story was always going to be an urban fantasy. It was always going to be my first step away from writing romance. Please understand that this only means the romance is not the central focus of the book. There will still be (hot!) romantic situations.

4. New, exciting characters will be introduced in The Last Dragon (you catch a glimpse of them in The Demon Bride), but our favourite characters will still be there, continuing to thrive and evolve ;)
