Blood Never Lies is a duet of companion novels to the Eye of the Storm series. Blood Shadow tells of what happened to Selena after Reign of the Wolf, and Aftershock, what happens to Pete, Beth, and Jasmine. The two books cross over with each other in the last couple of chapters, and Aftershock also crosses with Jewels of the Crown in the After the Storm novelettes.
So, if you're a fan of the series and want to continue on to read the new series these books are leading to, it is highly recommended you read these two books.
It may also be worth mentioning that Aftershock also reintroduces a main character form The Witching Pen series (years after The Witching Pen series ended). Aftershock is the point at which the "Dianna-verse" begins to cross over and come together.
